Michael Massagli, Ph.D., is a sociologist and social statistician whose current research at PatientsLikeMe is focused on survey methods and the measurement of health outcomes and patient experience of care.
Prior to joining the PatientsLikeMe team in June 2007, Dr. Massagli worked at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute as a Research Scientist in the Division of Population Sciences, where he was responsible for the design and management of the division’s Data Core. Over his career, he has had primary responsibility for the design, implementation and analysis of surveys and the management of survey operations. He has served as a Social Statistician at the U.S. Bureau of the Census Center for Survey Methods Research, Field Director and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Massachusetts-Boston Center for Survey Research, Research and Development Director at the Picker Institute and Senior Research Advisor to the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma.
